Asphalt 6: Adrenaline

Asphalt 6: Adrenaline

Asphalt 6: Adrenaline doesn’t try and be the most realistic racer in the world, nor the hardest. But by god its fun and gets your heart racing as fast as the expensive cars you are driving. With enough nitro, speed and raw adrenaline to keep you occupied for weeks, Asphalt 6 is a brilliant arcade racer well worth taking a look at.

Going fast is Asphalt’s aim, and it does it phenomenally well. As you race, you can get nitrous from drifting and collecting it off the track. Depending on how much nitrous you have stored, at a click of a button you are in extreme mode. The game has an amazing sense of speed and in boost time you almost feel like you are flying out of your seat. This is especially apparent when activating full nitrous which results in light speed vision, a ridiculously fast boost that blurs your vision and makes it hard to see the track. Just to add a bit more challenge, there are also other vehicles on the track you need to avoid. You can also eliminate other competitors by smashing them into wall or other cars.

Asphalt plays amazingly well, but the game takes a while to get challenging. It took me till almost the last league before I started to lose some races. The game could use a little difficulty increase to increase the tension at times.

This is the same for upgrading your vehicle. By the middle of the game you will have $2,000,000 that you don’t know what to spend on because end match rewards are so generous. You don’t need to think about what you buy or upgrade which is a downer.

Plus if you’re looking for a realistic racer then Asphalt 6: Adrenaline won’t fit your bill. Huge jumps, unrealistic track design (icelandic volcano anyone?) and insane drifts makes for an extremely fun but unrealistic experience.

The recognisable cars only heighten the excitement and makes the experience a whole lot better if you are racing in your favourite dream super-car than some unbranded lookalike.
